Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 4 February 2026
These Terms & Conditions apply to your use of this website and to any purchase, booking, or interaction with Red Squirrel Music (“we”, “us”, “our”). By using this website, making a booking, or purchasing a product, you agree to these Terms.
Important: Red Squirrel Music may feature lessons delivered by one or more self-employed teachers. Your contract for any lesson(s) is with the teacher delivering the service, whose details will be shown on your booking confirmation, invoice, or other written communication. References in these Terms to “the Teacher”, “I”, “me” mean the teacher providing your booked service.
If you have questions about these Terms, please contact: hello@redsquirrelmusic.co.uk.
1) Website use
1.1 You may use this website for lawful purposes only. You must not attempt to interfere with the website’s operation, access areas you are not authorised to access, or use the website in a way that is unlawful, harmful, abusive, or disruptive.
1.2 Content on this website (text, images, downloads, branding, and teaching materials) is owned by or licensed to Red Squirrel Music and/or the relevant Teacher. You may not copy, reproduce, redistribute, sell, or republish website content without written permission except where allowed by law.
1.3 We may update, suspend, or withdraw the website (or any part of it) at any time.
2) Bookings and payments
2.1 Bookings are made via our online booking system (including Acuity Scheduling). All sessions are scheduled by the client. No slots are held without a completed booking and full payment.
2.2 Payments are processed securely via Stripe (through Acuity and/or website checkout). We do not store full card details. A booking or order is only confirmed when payment is successfully processed and you receive confirmation.
2.3 Prices are shown at the time of booking/purchase and may change from time to time.
3) Lessons: eligibility and safeguarding
3.1 Minimum age: online lessons are available to students aged 9 and over only.
3.2 Students under 18: bookings must be made by a parent or legal guardian, using the parent/guardian’s contact details. The parent/guardian must join the start of the first session to confirm arrangements and must remain present for the duration of each lesson.
3.3 The Teacher may end a session immediately if safeguarding requirements are not met, or if the Teacher reasonably considers behaviour to be inappropriate, unsafe, defamatory, offensive, or unlawful. In these circumstances the session will be treated as delivered and fees will not be refunded.
4) Lessons: length, punctuality, and your responsibilities
4.1 Lesson duration is as shown at the time of booking. Please join on time - we suggest logging in ten minutes before the lesson is due to start. If you are late, the lesson will still end at the scheduled time.
4.2 Delays or interruptions on your side count as lesson time delivered.
4.3 You are responsible for your own device, internet connection, and a suitable environment for online learning.
5) Lesson cancellations and rescheduling
5.1 You may cancel or reschedule a booking up to 24 hours before the scheduled start time.
5.2 Within 24 hours of the lesson start time, you cannot cancel or reschedule and the session is non-refundable, because the Teacher cannot reasonably refill the slot at short notice.
5.3 If you fail to attend an arranged session, fees remain payable and no refund will be given.
5.4 If the Teacher needs to cancel a session, the Teacher will offer either (a) a replacement session at an agreed time, or (b) a credit or refund for the affected session.
5.5 Any exception, credit, or rearrangement offered outside this policy is entirely at the Teacher’s discretion and does not create an ongoing entitlement for future bookings.
6) Cooling-off period
6.1 Where the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 apply, you usually have 14 days to cancel.
6.2 If you book a lesson that takes place within the 14-day period, you are requesting that services begin during the cooling-off period. If you cancel after a lesson has been delivered, you may be required to pay for services already provided and any refund will be reduced accordingly.
7) Digital products (downloads, PDFs, digital courses/resources)
7.1 Digital products are supplied for personal use only unless stated otherwise in writing. You must not share, upload, redistribute, resell, or make them available to others (including via social media, groups, or file-sharing).
7.2 Copyright: You agree not to make unlawful photocopies or unlawful distributions of copyrighted music or materials.
7.3 Delivery: Digital products are usually delivered via download link, email, or account access (depending on the product). It is your responsibility to ensure you can access and download the files. If you are experiencing issues with this please contact hello@redsquirrelmusic.co.uk and we will endeavour to help you.
7.4 Refunds for digital products: By purchasing digital content, you agree that supply may begin immediately. Once a digital product has been downloaded/accessed, you may lose the legal right to cancel and receive a refund, except where the product is faulty or misdescribed. If you have an access problem, contact us and we will try to help you resolve it.
8) Physical products (printed books, merchandise, posted items)
8.1 If physical goods are sold, shipping times and costs will be shown at checkout where applicable. You are responsible for providing a correct delivery address.
8.2 Returns (change of mind): Where applicable, you may have a legal right to cancel and return physical goods within 14 days of receiving them. Items should be returned in their original condition. You are responsible for return postage costs unless the item is faulty or an error was made.
8.3 Faulty or incorrect items: If an item arrives faulty, damaged, or not as described, contact us promptly with photos where relevant. We will offer a replacement, repair, or refund in line with your legal rights.
9) Intellectual property
9.1 Any materials created and shared by the Teacher (including PDFs, worksheets, practice plans, notes, and recordings where agreed) remain the Teacher’s intellectual property and are provided for personal use only. They must not be shared, uploaded, sold, or redistributed.
10) Recording
10.1 Lessons must not be recorded by either party unless agreed in advance.
10.2 If recordings are made by agreement, they must not be shared with third parties or uploaded to social media without the express written permission of both parties.
11) Medical/access needs
11.1 You (or the parent/guardian) are responsible for informing the Teacher of any medical conditions or accessibility needs that may affect learning, interaction, or safety, so teaching can be adapted appropriately.
12) Data protection
12.1 Personal data is handled in line with our Privacy Policy and Cookies Policy (linked on this website). By booking or purchasing, you confirm you have read and understood those policies.
13) Limitation of liability
13.1 Nothing in these Terms limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so (for example, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or fraudulent misrepresentation).
13.2 Subject to the above, Red Squirrel Music and/or the Teacher are not liable for losses arising from events outside reasonable control, or for indirect or consequential losses.
14) Force majeure
14.1 Neither party is liable for failure to perform due to events beyond reasonable control (for example serious illness, major service outage, fire, flood, pandemic restrictions, or other events outside reasonable control).
15) Changes to these Terms
15.1 We may update these Terms from time to time. The version in force is the version published on this website at the time you book, purchase, or use the site.
16) Governing law
16.1 These Terms are governed by the laws of Scotland, and the Scottish courts will have exclusive authority to resolve disputes.
